The everyday blogger:
Visual documentation of user cases.
Portraying the relation between physical and
digital identities of bloggers.

In today’s society, bloging is becoming an important tool for human expression and self-exposure.
Social relations are being held, nowadays, inside a technological framework that is no longer structured and artificial but organic and natural in society’s new generation process. This new phenomena constitutes a continuous developing system.
Through our thesis project we want to state this actual social phenomena, researching the individual concept of the human’s auto image inside blogs which offer as a possibility, people to express themselves.. Therefore, our interest is to face the individual’s digital personality in contrast with the actual identity. For such approach and based on theory of typology and blogger user cases, our goal is to create a visual documentation of the phenomena, showing with images and video this theoretical representation of blogger’s portraits.

We are interested to hear from all bloggers about their blogging activities and details around the digital domestication.
As part of our master thesis we investigate for a visual documentary film of user cases.
This research is being conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Heidi Schelhowe at the University of Bremen, Germany and developed by us, Danny Barrantes and Ina Pruegel, master students at Digital Media.

According to our timetable, the final results will be finished and presented the first week of August, 2007. The documentary will be presented in Bremen, the place and time will be set up and announced.

    Thank you, Danny,

for bringing me up on the state of your work. The first week of August is over, it will take a bit longer, as always (that’s a lesson we all must learn: we are never able to keep deadlines unless they are defined by the police, capital, or the courts).

Doctor Pepper more conspicuous than the coffee. Amazing. Sponsoring?

Bloggers of the world, unite! That’s somehow the slogan you two want to get over to us. I am the worst case in that game since I don’t blog. Not enough time and afraid of sending around, into the empty world, stupid silly unnecessary unsolicited offending politically incorrect messages.

But I realized, reading your announcement, that you seem to make a distinction between digital personality and real identity. That is promising.

    Frieder
